It was a great fun gig. Thanks a lot to everyone who came down – especially Paul Sheffield and the organisers, and the contributors to the Group Loop . I’ll be playing 2 half-hour long sets at COSTA coffee in The middle of Wakefield on 2nd Jan 2011 at a Sunday Night Live event. The 1st 50 drinks come with a free cake apparently. Nice. The doors open at 7pm, and the evening kicks off proper at 7.30pm.

So, the new EP is done and dusted and is now up for grabs via the shop link above. It comes in a posh presentation tin, and costs £5.50 inc p&p. There are 6 songs on it, and I think they all sound great! Have a listen via the player on the left of the screen if you want to have a good listen 1st. Denis Blackham has now mastered the EP and it’s currently in her Majestys care making it’s way from the Isle of Skye down to the Sony plant where it’s getting printed up. It should be done and dusted in the next 10 days or so. I’ll post up when it shows up.

I’ve now got some mixes back from Charlie Russell (Jamiroquai etc) too. Along with 1 mix that I’ve done, that completes the set. So, just a case of getting the little beauties mastered, and then they’re off to the CD printing house. Good times!

Ryan Freeland (Crowded House, Bonnie Raitt, Ray LaMontagne, Aimee Mann, Jonatha Brooke etc), has mixed a couple of my new toons for me in LA, and they sound great! All being well, mixes of all 6 songs will be done and dusted by the end of this week.

The artwork is taking shape too so I reckon late October is likely to be the date I get my hands on the CDs. I thought you might like to know………

New EP on its way….

I haven’t posted much on here recently, but there is a good reason. I’ve been working away on a new CD. It’s been a long time coming, but I’ve finally ended up with what will be a 6 track EP. It’s gonna be called ‘Half Time’ and should be out in the next few weeks. A couple of the songs on it are featured on the ‘toons’ player on the left of this page, and another 4 will make their way up on to that very same player shortly.

I’ll post updates as they come through, but all being well, the songs should be ear worthy in a couple of weeks….

Hi. I’ve got a book out! It’s the product of the lecturing in Songwriting that I’ve been doing recently combined with fruitful conversations with a publisher. They decided that they liked me and went on to decide that they would print my thoughts on several sheets of paper. It’s called ‘Righting Wrongs in Writing Songs’ and does pretty much what it says on the cover. It’s approx 339 pages long and deals with all sorts of songwriting conundrums.
